Brooklyn Family Dentist, Dr. Sagar Shah

Dr. Shah SmilingI cannot express in words my excitement as I transition into Dr. Patton’s practice. Dr. Patton’s glowing reviews speak volumes to the impact she’s left on her patients and the wonderful Brooklyn community that she has served for all of these years. While dentistry is a large part of my life, I strive to lead a life filled with compassion and connection.

I have learned that in one way or the other, we are all intertwined with each other and that just as you entrust me to care for you, you too have come into my life to teach me something. I hope that we both benefit from our time together.

Dr. Shah and wifeMy wife, Jahnvi, and I moved to Brooklyn in 2016 and have never looked back. We both feel that there’s a certain magic in Brooklyn that we haven’t ever been able to find anywhere else in the world. The diversity, the culture, and the camaraderie in Brooklyn have entranced us. We have found some of our dearest friends during our recent years living in Brooklyn.

My wife, who was a big catalyst in moving my practice to Brooklyn, has been a source of inspiration in the years I’ve known her. She is an avid environmentalist and constantly has pushed me and countless others to be better residents of Planet Earth.

When I am not practicing dentistry, I spend my time hiking and biking, trying to explore Brooklyn’s nooks and crannies, playing board games, or cooking.

More recently, however, I’ve been learning something new: fatherhood. Say hello to our 8-month-old, Siddharth. I hope you can someday meet him crawling or running through the office.

I was raised on Long Island by my parents, who immigrated from Mumbai over 40 years ago, and worked incredibly hard to give my older sister and me the opportunities that they never had in their youth. My mother was a rockstar trauma center anesthesiologist with a near impeccable patient survival record, who woke before dawn to get to work every morning, even after 36 hours on call. Like myself, my father was a general dentist who started his career working among three dental offices, commuting from Queens to Brooklyn and back to Long Island. I owe whatever good fortune I’ve had to them and being able to move into my dream location at Dr. Patton’s office is in many ways a love letter to them and their innumerable sacrifices to provide for me.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read, and I look forward to getting to know each of you better in the months and years ahead.

I will be seeing patients in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays.
